Precision Machining

We offer a variety of manual and CNC machining services based on the accuracy, precision, cost, quantities, and complexity of the shapes.

Cutting round shapes with our lathes are not a problem due to our variety of machine sizes from small parts to large parts that require heavy cuts. We are able swing up to 24 inches in diameter, 12ft between centers, and 4 inches through the spindle.

When it comes to rectangular or special shapes, our mills cut a minimum of 12x24 area and as much as 18x42.

Do you need highly accurate boring across a large area? We have a large jig bore machine with 18"deep x 24"long x 18" vertical travel and a 22"x44" table.

Tool & Die Repair & Construction

Tool & Die has been a part of Suter Machine since the beginning of the company. When the company started in the 70's, Tool & Die jobs were our main business.

Even with the reduced need for Tool & Die craftmanship we still offer our repair services to keep your existing tooling and die sets in excellent shape.

We also offer new Tool & Die construction. Do you need new tooling or a special stamping die set made? We can help you.

Custom Machine Design & Construction

Do you need a special application machine?

Give us your application and specifications and we can design your custom machine and then build it.

This machine example automates the heat transfer of ink patterns from release coat paper to urethane ribbon at about 20 inch per minuite.

Heat Treating

We offer in house heat treating and tempering up to 10"wide x 20"deep x 8"high of a variety of tool steels, alloys, and stainless steel.

We also have a Rockwell Hardness tester to measure hardness.

If you have large parts to be heat treated we can help you. We have a great outside heat treating vendor that works with us on jobs we can't handle in house.

Surface Grinding

If flatness, roundness, and surface finish are critical for your part, we can offer our grinding services.

We have multiple surface grinders with tables up to 10"deep x 20"long x12"high.

Grinding round parts are not a problem for us. We have a cylindrical grinder for small round parts and our lathe attached tool post grinder for large round parts.

MIG/TIG Welding & Brazing

Some parts we make require welding of mating pieces. We can offer MIG welding or more accurate TIG welding for critical parts.

We can weld steels, stainless steels, and aluminum.

Brazing is also offered when mating parts with dissimilar materials.

Water & Plasma Cutting

Plasma cutting is typically used to cut thick steel, stainless steel, and aluminum plate at a cheaper cost and quicker rate than machining.

Water cutting is a good alternative to plasma cut and machining, offering accurate cutting with no heat affected zones. This process can cut just about any material without warping due to heat. Water cutting is perfect for difficult to machine materials such as rubber.

Fabrication

Not only do we make precision parts and machines but we also make fabricated parts and assemblies.

This part includes precision machined parts, water cut stainless blanks, a rolled ring, and TIG welding to hold some parts together.
