Our Rotary Screw Rebuilding Technique Increases Production Life

Do you want to increase production life for your POSS rotary screws? We can offer our unique welding technique to rebuild the worn cutting surfaces to achieve as good as or better than the new factory cutting edges. Our welding technique has been proven to extended production life there by saving our customers money.

We not only can rebuild the screw flights but also we can rebuild the worn taper, and bearing area that go inside the restrictor head.

Screen Plate Boring and Deburring

In addition to repairing (rebuilding) the POSS rotary screws, we can offer our screen plate boring and deburring services. After all our rotary screw rebuilds we bore the screen plates to the proper clearances and debur the edges to provide brand new sharpe cutting edges. Without a good screen plate set your rebuilt rotary screw will not work properly.

Restrictor Head Repair Over time the restrictor heads that control back pressure and alignment require repair. Typically the taper gets worn and damaged. We can completely rebuild the taper back to the OEM specifications. It is also a good time to replace worn bearings, that keep the rotary screw aligned.

Knife Assembly Rebuilding When there becomes excessive wear and clearance around the 3-wing bearing surfaces, it is time repair and rebuild the knife assembly components. Typically the round bearing surfaces of the 3-wing cutter can be sleeved with a hardened material. Then the mating faces on cutter plates and spacer ring can be machined smooth again to produce a sharp cutting edge. Once the part's repair limits are reached it is time to purchase new ones.
